Marcia Cross began her career in the ABC soap “The Edge of Night” in 1984, followed by the TV series “One Life to Live,” “Another World” and “Tales from the Darkside” in 1986. During this time, Marcia Cross also appeared on TV-movies such as “Brass,” “Pros & Cons,” “The Last Days of Frank and Jesse James” and “George Washington II: The Forging of a Nation.” Marcia Cross also starred in several stage productions, including work at the renowned Williamstown Theater Festival.

When Marcia Cross moved to Los Angeles in 1988, she found work in several TV shows, including “Cheers,” and “It’s Garry Shandling’s Show.” In 1990, Marcia Cross made her movie debut in “Bad Influence,” followed by her primetime TV debut on the hit CBS series “Knots Landing.” During this time, Cross also appeared on various TV series such as “Herman’s Head,” “Raven,” “Burke’s Law,” and “Ned and Stacy,” as well as TV-movies like “M.A.N.T.I.S.,” “Mother’s Day,” and “All She Ever Wanted.”

In 1989, Aaron Spelling cast Marcia Cross in the unsold pilot entitled “Temporarily Yours.” When Spelling was building the ensemble cast of “Melrose Place” in 1992, he remembered Marcia Cross and cast her as Dr. Kimberly Shaw. For five seasons, Marcia Cross played Kimberly on ‘Melrose Place’ until she decided to leave in 1997 to pursue a Master’s Degree in Psychology.

In 1999, Marcia Cross made a comeback with a recurring role in the ABC sitcom “Boy Meets World.” She also made guest appearances on various TV sitcoms like “King of Queens,” “Ally McBeal,” and “Spin City,” while taking dramatic roles on “Profiler,” “Touched by an Angel,” “Strong Medicine” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.” From 2000 to 2003, Marcia Cross also appeared in various movies such as “Dancing in September,” “Living in Fear,” “Bank” and “The Wind Effect.” However, her portrayal as Dr. Linda Abbot in the WB family drama “Everwood” fastened her back to the small screen.

In 2004, Marcia Cross landed a regular spot in the ABC series “Desperate Housewife,” where she portrayed her most popular role as the control freak, Wisteria Lane homemaker Bree Van de Kamp. Her performance on the show paved the way for Golden Globe nominations in 2005, 2006 and 2007 for ‘Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.’ As of December 2009, Marcia Cross still works as a regular cast of the show, but continue to work on other projects, such as the 2009 movie “Just Peck.”
